At Songbird Retreat, we offer a picturesque 4.5-acre property in Matheson Bay, Matakana, featuring lush terraced lawns and meticulously landscaped gardens. Bounded by native forest, and leading to a forest walkway to Matheson Bay, Songbird Retreat is a magical spot, especially at night when the lights will be on!

We host only one event at a time, ensuring your wedding is intimate and exclusively yours.
Flexibility to Personalise Your Day
Our venue allows you to bring your food, your drinks, your children and if you wish your dog, and allows you to personalise the event as you wish.
Seamless Planning with Comprehensive Packages
Our Songbird Package includes a clear roof marquee adorned with fairy lights, essential furniture, and guidance simplifying the planning process. Additionally, our on-site Songbird Cottage offers luxurious accommodation, serving as a perfect bridal suite or honeymoon retreat.

We offer a BYO beverage policy with no corkage fees, providing significant cost savings and allowing you to select beverages that suit your taste.

Monique Magic: Your Dream Wedding for Less
Exclusive 2-Day Venue Hire, plus:
Clear Roof Marquee adorned with fairy lights.
Furniture and Equipment:
50 chairs.
Four plinths, signing table, and chair.
Ceremony arch.
Tables and tablecloths for up to 50 guests
PA system.
($9,999 current special if booked by April 4 )
You would set up the chairs and tables and decorate the day before.
You would need to arrange a chiller fridge and plates and cutlery.
You can have BYO drinks and BYO food.
You would be responsible to ensure the place is clean and tidy, putting the chairs and tables back in the furniture trailer with supervision by midday Sunday 9th.
